"Good software but has issues."
Version: Total Recorder Standard Edition 7.0
Pros
It works!! Does everything as promised and works great!
Cons
Messes with System sounds.
Summary
I've used this software for a long time and I am now looking for a substitute. I may eventually go back to Total recorder. The problem I have with it is that something inside the software messes with the system sounds causes it to *ding* everytime I click the mouse.
Something else is inside Total Recorder, but it works. -
"Totally worth the upgrade"
Version: Total Recorder Standard Edition 7.0
Pros
Check my reviews - I am not an easy customer to please. But this is the only software that works as advertised - most others do not (despite claims otherwise) record streaming audio.
Cons
..!..
Summary
null
DO NOT BUY THIS SOFTWARE. IT WILL BE OBSOLETE WITHIN DAYS.

If you're trying to record a stream, and find that Total Recorder is the only way to do it, realize that the source you're recording from is actively creating new ways to thwart Total Recorder and others from recording its streams.
Total Recorder has not offered any updates, so basically they can't keep up with streamers who seem to easily make Total Recorder not work.
I made a huge mistake buying this - it worked great on a certain website. A very short time later the "certain" website updated itself, and now its streams can no longer be downloaded with Total Recorder.
I basically paid eighteen bucks to download half a dozen songs. Sound like a good deal to you? Me neither. -
"Best recorder available"
Version: Total Recorder Standard Edition 7.0
Pros
Reliable. Good quality recordings. Lots of scheduling and formatting options.
Cons
Not the most user friendly program on the market - takes a while to master all of the functions. Help functions could be improved.
Summary
I've tried many internet recorder programs and all of them have given me problems - bad sound quality, playback at wrong speed, crashes, etc. I'm convinced that Total Recroder is the most reliable product on the market and is well worth its cost. It has a bit of a long learning curve, but once you master it you can record anything, save it anywhere, set up and schedule easily. No video, though - that is an add on . Most people will probably not need the professional version - I got it becuase I sometimes like to split files.
