Editors' review

Total Movie Converter gives you top-notch performance and style at a relatively fair price. We found it to be one of the most complete conversion programs on the market. It offers nearly universal file support and is incredibly easy to use. The trial version of this program doesn't watermark your videos or cut them short, which is a nice change of pace from other programs.

The installation wizard takes the user through the quick setup process. The program requires at least 66.6MB free disk space to complete the installation. The program's gorgeous layout breaks every file format down into a basic button labeled with an appropriate icon, so you can convert all of your videos with only a few clicks. The program features a built-in video player at the bottom so you can view videos before and after conversion. Total Movie Converter switches the file's format quickly and keeps most of the original audio and video quality intact. As a bonus, the program lets you change audio output, frames per second, resolution, and more. You can even change parts of your video from the command line, if you know what you're doing. The program will search for videos in your attached devices and memory cards, so you can easily convert videos on a smartphone or tablet. It will recommend the best format for several Android, BlackBerry, and iOS gadgets, so you don't have to struggle with trial and error. Additionally, it can convert video files to MP3 as well as videos from sites like YouTube and Vimeo.

With this program, the user pays a small premium for incredible ease of use. While free programs might match Total Movie Converter in features, they don't compete with how great the program is for users who don't do a lot of video work. If that sounds like you, this program is worth the price. You'll pay much less than you would for advanced video editors that can have a much steeper learning curve.

Editors' note: This is a review of the trial version of Total Movie Converter 3.2.147.
