I have installed 0.9.5 on my new iMac with Lion 10.7.2 and it works perfect. I encode my movies to Apple TV 2, and don't need to make any changes to the preset settings.
It's great for getting those DVD movies onto my iphone, Ipod, or in my case ipad, Quality is good.....Cons

Summary
The one thing I was concerned about moving to the mac, was being able to continue backing up my dvd library. It turns out I didn't need to worry at all. It is even easier on the mac.

It claims that it can rip to a multitude of formats.

The interface is awful. It is just lame. You can't figure out what it's doing once you tell it to start the rip. All I notice on my very fast MacBook Pro is that the fan is now running the entire time during the rip. The interface displays something called "Start Time" and "Start Time". It chose to display the "Stop Time" as 00:00:18 on my version. I guess this means "18 seconds". That's the only thing that I can think of. But nothing has taken only 18 seconds. I have been waiting for close to half an hour for the rip to finish.
Summary
Don't buy it. Don't try it. Hard to believe that they're making money off of this. And thanks to CNET's web interface here -- yes, these boxes into which I am typing my review for the SECOND time! -- they wiped out all my boxes in my first attempt because I was "foolish enough" (I guess) to select the correct version from the Previous Versions select box ... yes, the selection box that appears AFTER, that appears BELOW all the boxes into which we are supposed to type our review! So, for all I know, other people have complained about this software, only to select the "correct version" at the end of their review, and to have their entire review wiped out because CNET's app takes you to a new web page once you select the version you are reviewing. Here is an idea: How about putting that selection box at the TOP of the review page!
An update from the "Mac Video DVD Ripper Ultimate" front, I just now did discover that in fact the trial version only did rip 18 minutes worth of my DVD ... into .mp4 files ... and 18 minutes worth took about a half hour of my time! Don't buy it. Don't try it. Don't waste your time. It will just frustrate you.

I think it's worth every penny. I am trying the "trial" version, and it is ripping my entire 8.2 GB DVD to an ISO file in less time than it took aforementioned software to give me 18 minutes worth of the same DVD.
So, I am going to purchase it. They just do things "the right way". And even their trial version allows you to do a full rip ... and they allow you to do something like 6 full rips before you have to pay for a license.
That's just the right way to do business, IMHO. -
