Fixed a severe bug that caused the system preferences app to crash after clicking the show all button

added a periodic detection of tomcat's state, instead of only at preference pane startup/reveal
reworked underlying code to provide better stability
now detects tomcat on any port, instead of just port 8080
removed the save button associated the tomcat path field. Now the path is... see all new features
