Quickly calculate a round total amount based on the percentage you wish to tip. 2. Evenly split the total amount between 2 or more payers. How Tipper Helps While paying a restaurant bill, we make mental decisions aboutwhat percentage to tip based on the quality of service. We thencalculate the tip amount, usually add a small fraction toround up the total to the nearest whole number. For example, suppose the bill amount (including tax) is 27.52. Wedecide to tip 15%, which is 4.13. So the total amount including tipis 27.52 + 4.13 = 31.65. We round that up to 32 and sign thereceipt. It's easy to write 32.00 as the total amount, but most restaurantsrequire you to specify the tip amount separately. Calculating the"actual tip" based on the total can be challenging and timeconsuming. Tipper saves you the effort bycalculating the total and displaying the actual tip amount.Additionally, if you specify more than one payer, the total amountis split evenly and each payer's share is displayed (see screen shot). For simplicity, Tipper always rounds the total up to the nearestwhole number. So you will never see a total like 31.65. This meansyour actual tip will always be fractionally higher than thepercentage you selected.
