Time guardian is a parental control program that can restrict access to a wide variety of applications, using either time of day restrictions, or by monitoring the total time spent. This includes games, internet browsers, messaging systems (such as Live Messenger) and many other Windows based applications. You also have the option of completely blocking software indefinitely. You can set time limits for each application individually or group applications together by type (such as "Games"). Therefore, it does not make a difference how much time the user has spent on a particular game, rather; the total time spent gaming. Each child can have separate limitations. For example: if you want to restrict the youngest child to 1 hour of games per day and your teenager to 4 hours this is possible. These limitations are customizable for daily, weekly or even monthly usage scenarios. Once the time limit has been reached, they will no longer have access to that application, or group of applications. Also, the termination of a program is done in an elegant manor. Visual and auditory alerts are given well before applications are terminated, allowing the user to save their game/work. Time Guardian can also e-mail alerts to you when new programs are put on the computer and send you regular usage reports via e-mail.
What's new in this version: Version 1.0.104 resolves some security issues with the nstaller. Also, resolved security issue with evaluation version only where non-admin users can stop program from running. Alos some minor improvements to error handling and messages.

Summary
It's sad that I have to jump to this software's defence, especially when I have personally found it to be a valuable asset to our family. I purchased this software straight from the company a while ago and have actually been using it for over 6 months. I am reviewing it now because I see there has been a flood of unfair reviews for it.
Not only has time Guardian worked perfectly for me, but it has given me great control over what members of my household can use and when. It has "trained" us to be far more respectful to each other's time and personal space, and we are thankful for that. No more arguments, that's all I can say!
Beware of bogus reviews though. I can clearly see that not only have there been a few OBVIOUS bogus poor reviews on this software, but they seem to be describing issues that are not even relevant to this software's functionality (such as web filtering). Ass this with the fact that all the comments try and get you to move to another piece of software, and it paints a very sad picture.
Time Guardian works, and does so with little fuss. As for these other "products" these bogus spam reviewers are mentioning: I'm sure that if they can resort to these kinds of immoral business practises here, do you really want their software installed on your computer? Something to think about. -
"Parents to Parrot Controls"

+Can only do what you tell the system to do, just like a parrot.
+Warn and show you statistic that is unpleasing to know. e.g. no of times u visit a danger website. Just like a parrot repeating what you said disrespectfully....Summary
Overall, Parrot Control I mean Parent Control software is a good alternative to none at all.
But, funding and nurturing on this application takes time and research, isn't that wiser to keep and eye close sometimes to be happy for once in your life?
Think of: I could be watching a kid jumping up and down on a shafted like trampoline ? rather than, "User01 had try accessing XXXXX.XXXX for the last 30 second, I am going to punish him tonight"! -

everyone (especiaally now, when they offered me a
free upgrade :). The programm is called Time Boss

Automatic emails to let me know how much time my child has been spending an all the different aspects of the computer. It is very easy to use, and has stopped alot of fights over how long my daughter has been using different games.
Cons
The installation did take a little time, but once it was set up it was very easy to manage.
Summary
If you have had fights with your kids over how long they have been on the computer, then this is the best $70 you could ever spend...I would recomend it to all parents!

I just love this program I can control the amount of time that the kids are spending online. I have set different times for each of them and now we no longer have any arguments. I have set google, games, etc to finish at 9pm. I no longer have to stress and monitor the time so we are all a lot happier!!!!!!!
Cons
The best thing is the wizard that scans the computer for programs/games that have been installed. This makes set up easy. I also like the one time passwords. I use these as rewards for good behaviour or if the kids need extra time online to do assignments. The one time password will let them have more hours online for games/goggle/facebook etc.
Summary
The first couple of weeks were a bit of an adjustment for the kids. There were a few complaints and I just had to ignore them . Now they are used to having the program on the computer. They are warned when their programs are going to be terminated and they are now preparing to shut down before they are forced to. I just love the program and hope parents will give it a trial you will be surprised at how peaceful your house will become.
