Editors' reviewIf you want a quick way to display your digital-photo collection in style, Thumb Buddy is tough to beat. An intuitive navigation window lets you find and select images, which are then displayed in a scrollable strip down the middle of the interface. Clicking the small images lets you see individual photos in a preview window on the right. Once you've chosen your images, just click the Make Thumbs button. Thumb Buddy then creates Web pages in seconds, with thumbs and captions you can spread out over several pages. A tabbed interface on the app's left lets you configure the number of thumbs per page, specify image size, and apply mouseover effects. Thumb Buddy even offers FTP-client features for uploading your pages to a Web site. Our only real problems with this program concern the 25-use shareware limit and the Buy Now button that hovers near your scrollable strip of images. However, if you often post your digital photos to the Web or would like an easy way to get started, Thumb Buddy is one of the best apps we've seen for the job.
Do you have a folder full of digital pictures and don't know what to do with them? Is Mom bugging you to see those pictures of her grandbabies again? Are your friends still waiting to see the pictures of your wedding? Or your vacation? Or your children's graduation? Thumb Buddy can easily help you out of this dilemma by allowing you to build a digital-photo album of your digital-photo collections in no time.
Using special features, such as image masks, watermarks, and a perspective view, you can take a folder full of images and create a work-of-art photo album and put it online in minutes. Version 2.1a includes unspecified updates.
