CNET Editors' review
Tagged Frog allows users to organize documents, images, links, and more using tags. Although we like the idea behind the program, its interface left us scratching our heads.
Aesthetically, the interface is pleasing, with a sleek and simple design. And we like the idea behind the program--how many times have we wished for a way to search for a document using a keyword? Despite Tagged Frog's potential usefulness, however, it's not particularly intuitive. Users are able to drag and drop items that they'd like to tag, which is nice, and the tagging process is simple enough. The way the program displays the items, however, just didn't entirely make sense to us. Users can create sets and filters, but it's not immediately obvious how these work or how they would be beneficial. It also seems very difficult--if not impossible--to add additional tags to an item after its initial tagging. In general, we feel that it's hard to even put our finger on what it is that's wrong with the interface, beyond saying that we kept clicking on things expecting a certain result and ending up with something else. The program's online Help file offers some guidance, but is also rife with sentences like "Every rule specify path to scan." Still, we were able to add tags to our documents and then sort them, which was useful.
Tagged Frog is free. It installs and uninstalls without issues. We recommend this program with reservations; it has the potential to be useful, users just need to be patient when trying to figure out its features.
Publisher's Description
From Lunar Frog:
TaggedFrog allows you to organize your files, documents and Web links. Just add objects to the library and tag them with any keywords. You can forget the file name or where the file is located. You can tag Web links, Microsoft Office documents, PDF documents, and images. In fact, you can tag any kind of file. Moreover, you can tag files directly from Windows File Explorer because the application is integrated with Explorer's context menu.
What's new in this version: Version 1.1 changes drive name for better library portability.

"Some improvement needed"
Version: Tagged Frog 1.1
Pros
Great concept and works pretty well. Does what it says in description.
Cons
MAJOR flaw, you do not see the files added in the 'tagged frog database' unless you select a tag so you have no clue if there are any files that are untagged. I feel like you should be able to see the files as well.
I put all my files in one folder so I have no clue which I have already added in the app and which are not so I end up adding many over and over :( Hence finally stopped using the app and looking for alternatives.Summary
I am used to a mac app called as Yep (http://www.ironicsoftware.com/yep/) They have hit perfection, tagging, plus you see the files you have added in there. If the author adds an option to see the files without selecting a tag, that will be great.
On left hand side columns, you have a file type selector, which is useless as it just gives you tags again but NOT the files. Intuitively, you would think that if I select' PDF documents' then I get to check the files and not the tags associated with the files. Both will be great but then it needs to be refined in that way. Hope I made myself clear enough :) -
"Tags are the future"
Version: Tagged Frog 1.1
Pros
Great concept
Cons
A bit cumbersome to use
Summary
This is a great attempt at a file-tagging utility. Even so, I think that DiviFile ( http://www.qnomad.com/divifile/ ) is the preferable alternative.
