I have only used it once, but this tool is very useful when you get frustrated or annoyed when trying to edit mp3 and music tags using Window's "properties." This tool makes it easier to navigate and get the job done quicker without that constant right clicking hassle that can take you hours. It also lists more editing features than the regular editing tags on Windows "properties" for music files. Overall, this product hasn't crashed on me, very lightweight, and IS very useful to get rid of those annoying, unnecessary, useless information, or even add some more!

Pros
I prefer to minimize the # of apps I install on my systems so I use Windows Media Player 11 for music management. However, ever since I started ripping LPs, I have notices that WMP seems to have an issue populating meta data for my custom albums (e.g., tag data get "chopped" off - no matter how many times I go back in and re-edit). I searched for a media management app that could allow for easy tag editing/review, perform well and be as small install as possible. Kudos to TagScanner! The download was less than ~2MB and it does everything plus more. It's simple and provides a much better interface than WMP for meta-data editing. TagScanner seems to have all of the features competitors advertise but TagScanner is free.
Finally, it works great on Windows Vista.

It does what it promisses to. It was EXACTLY I was searching for: it generates tags based on filename and the opposite.

Auto track numbering is not convenient. Uses different style than most Windows programs so must think a little more when using it. Help is rather lacking.

This is such a good and useful program. It's free and effective. Great for lots and lots of mp3s, since it's all laid out on the screen in a neat fashion.
Cons
I'm not sure if it's been added or not yet, but I don't think there's an undo button.

Works very well and very fast.
Auto look-up info for complete albums.
Easily renames files.
Free, but doesn't feel like it.
Cons
If you have indiviual songs or incomplete albums, you will need to provide your own infor.

Good layout, once you get familiar with it. Pretty powerful range of options.
Despite what an earlier reviewer said, I think you CAN replace underscores with a space or any character xyz with any other character abc.
Cons
You can't, as far as I can figure out, add spaces back in where they've been stripped. To make TitlesLikeThis look like Titles Like This I'm using Mp3Tag v. 2.39
