Taco HTML Edit is a full-featured HTML editor available for free. It is designed exclusively for Mac OS X and uses many of the core technologies built into Mac OS X including image transparency (in the image map wizard), toolbars, multithreading (for quick tag coloring), and much more. Taco HTML Edit includes the following features: Customizable tag coloring; Code Clips to keep track of frequently used HTML code; the ability to choose any browser for the preview browser; a menu for quick previewing in Internet Explorer, Netscape, OmniWeb, or Opera. Taco HTML Edit includes tools to check the syntax of documents and supports Unicode.
Version 1.6 adds support for PHP syntax coloring and previewing, and has an improved interface for syntax checking.

Pros
The program groups tags by kind and turns it to a specific color if it is a correct tag. It also provides previews so you can easily check if you are doing it right.
Cons
It recognizes old tag formats as well as new versions. These older tags don't work. A reference link would be nice.

Pros
Taco HTML Edit is straightforward and fast, and does what it says it will. The interface is clean and intuitive.
Cons
The fault lies not with our stars, or Taco HTML Edit, but with ourselves: Having grown up with WYSIWYG web-authoring tools, I miss not having a built-in preview layer, rather than jumping to the browser to see if I did what I meant to do. But that's just me!

-Has the word "taco" in the title

-Doesn't display the line number; the only way to navigate to a specific line is to hit ctrl+L.
-Doesn't remember how you had the window sized the last time you opened the program.
-Uses word wrapping instead of horizontal scrolling.
-Cannot actually be eaten
