Don't like Firefox's close button on each tab? Miss the multiple rows of tabs when they exceed the width of your screen? This kick-butt Firefox extension makes tabbed browsing even better than it already is. Tab Mix Plus can change those settings and almost everything else associated with tabs. Use your scroll wheel to browse tabs, or control tab switching via mouse gestures. You can specify where Web pages will open--in the background or the foreground, in a new tab or the current one--based on how they were created: by clicking a link, typing an address, or using the search bar.
You can duplicate a tab, protect it from closing, or merge tabs from several windows. We also like the option that prevents those annoying blank tabs when you download files. Another useful feature is a session manager that restores tabs that were open the last time the browser shut down. We'd like to see an option to view tabs as thumbnails, but nevertheless there's something here for every Firefox user--don't browse without it.

"If You Like To Control Your Tabs, This Is A Must"

Pros
This add-on gives you so much control over your tabs. It is a big upgrade over just using the Firefox tabs, as is. This may be the best add-on.
Cons
None at all, except that I hope that these tab features are integrated in the new versions of Firefox..
Summary
Before using Tab Mix Plus, I used a browser called The World Browser because it had tabs that were so controllable by the user; they were very user-friendly. I switched to Firefox, when I found, installed and tailored this add-on to my specific needs and tastes. It is a great add-on. Give it a try.

I love being able to undo close tabs, lock tabs, protect tabs, etc. Very handy extension.
Cons
When you delete browsing history and check to delete Tab Mix browsing sessions, it gives a popup warning, no way to stop that from coming up that I've seen yet.

It does what it says it will. To the best of my knowledge, it doesn't impact anything else that is critical.

Since I installed this upgrade, the picture that I have in Colorful Tabs keeps getting wiped out randomly. I have to change it to a different background and then back again. This did not happen before this upgrade (which did not come in on it's own)
Summary
Overall, one of the best extensions available. It would be great if this functionality were built in to Firefox.

Allows you to customise things that you would only dream of doing on normal firefox settings. You can even do things like change the name of the tab, change the right-click options under any circumstances and best of all - no trials or payment!!!
Cons
I've noticed the slightest speed reduction when starting firefox and during firefox. Nothing worrying, it simply affects me as my pc isnt upto scratch. However for those with older computers, too many of these add ons can reduce pc speed.

"Right click funtionality for FF TABS"

Pros
Instant access to useful functions. Most are already available in Firefox V3.0.3 but the convenience of merely right clicking the tab to duplicate, bookmark, reload, open or close makes Tab Mix Plus a really useful bit of code.
