It shows a description of each icon, identifies the program which displays the icon and gives you the option to uninstall the program or simply to remove it from startup. Compared to other tools, System Tray Cleaner takes a different and better approach to the problem of system tray clutter. It helps you go through and remove your system tray icons as quickly as possible and it is an online tool which extracts information about what each icon does from Wikipedia, so you are never in the dark about whether you need an icon or not.

Pros: NONE! It doesn;t work.
Cons: I could never get it to work. Alwayswent to a browser page that had an error message.uninstalled after 3 or 4 tries.

Pros: Gives up-to-date information on all programs in the system tray. Can end the process or remove the program from startup with the press of a button. The program isn't too complicated and the user interface looks nice too.
Cons: The interface takes place in your web browser, which makes things a bit slower. You can't hide icons either. You can only stop the program from starting in the first place.
Summary: If you have unknown icons in your system tray, get the program now! Otherwise, this software has little to offer. Try 4t Tray Minimizer Free. It's interface isn't as nice, but it gets the job done nicely.

Pros: I am using Microsoft security essential and the tray icon disappear ... only this software could resolve my problem .
Cons: they should add more features to the software to make more useful like disable some icons from tray ..
