As with any machine, your PC needs regular tune-ups to maintain peak performance. This virtual toolbox can enhance the speed, safety, and power of your computer with a wide range of functions and an extensive help system.

System Mechanic performs cleanup, optimization, and privacy protection with equal agility. As with similar tune-up utilities, it enables you to clean up your registry, remove junk files, and customize hidden settings to improve performance. The app has additional tools for removing spyware and for defragmenting your hard drive, eliminating the need for multiple utility programs. There is an undo function that restores your system to its previous state, but its hidden in the SafetyNet tab and doesn't allow you to bring back one item at a time. The program also lacks a system profiler.

The bottom line, however, is that System Mechanic is one of the most complete, effective, and easy-to-use tune-up utilities we've seen to date.

  "Older version was better."

  Pros: It still does somewhat of what it did before.

  Cons: I used to have the version 6 of this program and I still do on a seperate disc. I saved it and I'm glad I did because this new version is terrible. I tried it out a while ago and it freezes on me more than it actually cleans anything. Especially in the beginning when it's doing those tiny short scans. The GUI is a little too much. I think people nowadays prefer something simple.

  "Great system analisys program!"

  Pros: Very accurate, easy to install and uninstall. It help clean alot of my computer clutter. It also fixed some security holes in my computer. it also optimized my internet speed. Overall this is a great choice for helping your computer.

  Cons: It is way overpriced in my opinion.

  "I really wanted to try this application."

  Pros: I checked it out on line. Looked at the other reviews and my curiosity almost got the better of me. It sure looked like it might be good.

  Cons: But, it from the "iolo Technologies" home page it wanted me to register. Then it told me my email address was not valid. It is! Then it wanted me to download a "tiny download application" and I did. As soon as I tried to download the installer. my security software went nuts. "Kaspersky Firewall" wanted to block it and "Counter Spy' warned me that it wanted to change my startup registry. No way! I'm not willing to chance this. It might contain adware. I'm not sure but I'm not willing to take the chance. To bad. I thought it might be a good program.

  "fixed my pc"

  Pros: i tried every thing after a spyware attack that spy sweeper didn't remove or trend micro i tried every thing, this is the only program that seemed to fix it.. completely fixed the registry files that were damaged and fixed my computer is pretty much back to normal again

  Cons: the downfall is i found this program at walmart for 19.99 on here its 45.00 bucks go to the store people
