Virtru for Firefox is a compact extension that blends seamlessly with various email providers to offer secure encryption of your messages and attachments. This program is straightforward in design and hosts a handful of helpful tools; however, a few compatibility issues may complicate your experience with Virtru.
Excellent assistance: Virtru constantly provided us with tips and other tidbits of information during initial use, making it painless to understand how to use this program. We found the Virtru blog to be an excellent support resource because it offers step-by-step instructions and video tutorials.
Integrative layout: This application is blended perfectly with Firefox, only requiring a small icon on you main toolbar. Virtru for Firefox comes to life once you access one of its supported email services, giving you encryption options directly within emails as you write. This low-key design is great for saving space when handling unrelated needs.
Great features: Virtru for Firefox did very well at protecting our emails and attachments, and we enjoyed that you are given the ability to only encrypt certain sections of an email. The expiration tool is also quite unique, giving you the option of having email content disappear after a certain amount of time.
Unsupported email providers: We observed that Virtru for Firefox did not function properly with Outlook.com, one of the email services "supported" by this application, so you may experience other compatibility issues during your experience with this program.
We are pleased with the overall feel and abilities of Virtru for Firefox. While other standalone encrypted email services are available, few, if any, offer the integrative and unique features offered by Virtru. We suggest this program for all individuals wishing to protect their privacy or desiring more control over their email provider.
