This straightforward backup utility makes it a snap to safeguard and synchronize your files, and its freeware price just sweetens the deal. Surprisingly flexible for a free program, SyncBack can save your files anywhere: on external hard drives, in ZIP archives, on network drives, on CDs (using UDF), or transfer them via FTP. Recovering from a drive loss is also cinch, with a convenient restore tool that replicates folder trees along with the files in them.
It lets you define multiple scheduled backup jobs so you can just set 'em and forget 'em, allowing users to create specific backup jobs for certain folders or file types. You can control the way files are compared and selected for backup: the program comes with ready-made profiles to make the process as easy as possible. It's hard not to like that SyncBack doesn't use many system resources when working in the background, and backups can be set to export their logs to an HTML file for easy viewing. All in all, it's an excellent choice for home users and small businesses.

"excellent tool for easy backup or file synchronization"
Pros: simple and easy to use but surprisingly customizable - and it's free!
Cons: none that I've encountered, and I've been using this product (sporadically, granted) for over a year now

Pros: Tons of optional customizations. You can do a quick backup of a detailed synchronization with this program.
Cons: None yet, although I haven't used the program much yet.
Summary: The best free synchronization software I've seen. If that's what you want, download this.

Pros: Does a full backup followed by incremental backups on a schedule or on command.
Cons: The first day it worked fine, but the second day my virus scanner detected a Trojan Horse in it. Would not download it I were you.

"Excellent quality, very easy to use, FAST"
Pros: As a software designer myself, I appreciate the quality of an application like this. The depth and breadth of functionality in the program belies the simplicity and ease of use of the user interface. The software is great value. It is also very fast.
Cons: Cons? Just that I didn't discover SyncBack long ago, before wasting so much time trying to get other software to work. Used Microsoft's SyncToy (good, but nowhere near SyncBack), and a few other backup apps for years. None come close to SyncBack.
Summary: I am always critical of software since I have spent the last 20 years designing it myself, and when I stumble upon a gem like this, I am just so happy, and my faith in humanity as software developers is restored.
