This freeware browser plug-in puts several online games at your fingertips, but we had a security concern.
Supergames Toolbar is added to Internet Explorer's toolbar and let you access the publisher's game site--supergames24.com--to select and play free online games. Of course, if you like the games, you could simply bookmark the URLs and skip this toolbar.The toolbar does simplify finding the games. Simple pull-down menus let novice gamers see and play featured games. You can easily view all games by categories, which include Brainteasers, Sports, Action, Adventure, and similar Web-based game themes. The featured games are fun and free, though some didn't load as quickly as we'd like. Nothing downloads to your system; you play each directly on supergames24.com.
Supergames Toolbar is available in English and Dutch. One major disappointment occurred when the program hijacked our home page and changed it to the publisher's site. There were no installation options to warn us that this would occur, and it speaks to the publisher's opinion of those who install their toolbar. With that said, users should just skip this program and simply go to the game URLs to avoid home page hijacking.
