SuperOneClick is a simple tool for "rooting" your Android phone. It allows partial or full rooting and also enables "unrooting." SuperOneClick supports a long list of Android phones.
You NEED to put your phone on USB Debugging mode You NEED to install make sure the Android drivers for your phone are installed. Make sure you DO NOT mount your SD card. If you still can't get something to run, try doing it in recovery mode.

"It Just Froze"

Pros
Easy to run and it doesn't install in your PC, so no registry entries.
Cons
While trying to run it, AVG prompted me that it had two trojans, so it cleaned them out and even after it was clean, it did NOT WORK. I ran it three times and it went into "Not Responding" mode.
Summary
It's just a waste of time. Look somewhere else.

I followed the directions of Seth Rosenblatt in the cnet video "How to root your Android". It was easy and worked perfectly. After running SuperOneClick I did have to restart my phone for the rooting to be recognized.
Cons
None. It worked very well.

If you can get the code to freeze without getting the app, ie the SuperOneClick application, to not freeze, just hit the root button again, at first it will ask if you are above 2.0, click yes if you are, then it will tell you to power off the phone and restart it, don't, just click ignore, worked the first time I did this, i suggest doing this also if it freezes on you alot like it did to me

Not many. Didn't even see the phone.

Virus found! Dont trust it. Luckily my virus software caught it.

Froze up constantly. Drove AVG anti-virus nuts. Suggest disabling your anit-virus software before using this. Got my referal from How ToGeek.com. Disappointed in their credibility.
