This impressive application may not look like much, but it will help you find files with ease, even when they're not physically located on your computer. Before getting started with SuperCat, you'll be prompted to create indexes of files. Not only can you index your hard drive files, you also can index network files, CDs, and other storage devices. The program's plain, tabbed interface lets you search all your indexes or just one, and narrow your search by file or disk type. You can schedule automatic updates for indexes of system files or opt to have them update when files are moved or deleted. You also can search for files on your hard drives that aren't indexed under the Find Local Files tab. We like the built-in unzip utility and a tool to locate duplicate files. However, although you can search for specific text when searching for local files, you can't search the indexes for words or phrases within the files. Aside from this drawback, SuperCat proves superfast when searching indexes and any user will find it enhances the standard Windows search tool.Publisher's description

"Seems to be oriented to indexing drives"
Pros: Seems to be oriented to data, weak on music or photo, but not removable media. Finds duplicates and has zip extract.
Cons: No cover print, no loan, no location. Has scheduler, but not sure why you would use that without backup. Too awkward to scan lots of disks. It seems to be somewhere between an indexer and a search function. Not strong on a catalog or library function.

Pros: Both cataloging and search time are amazingly fast, install is very easy, ordering was easy.
