I've been using Stopzilla for over two years and have never had a problem.. well the odd false -positive, but everything else does that occasionally too. I feel absolutely safe online with it running, and know that my Hosts file is fully protected.
Cons
No cons at all.

Easy installation, instant telephone response after a drive failure when I needed my registration key. Trouble-free updates. This is a super program!.

Summary
I notice several of these reviews have been written by obviously CLUELESS individuals! I have run as many as 4 different spyware programs at a time on my computer. I have literally tried EVERY single one on the market. The top two are #1- StopZilla and #2- Spyware Doctor. All the rest are very similar in effectiveness and a DISTANT third.
By the way I run StopZilla 5.0..... not 4.4
You can run a scan with 4 different programs and all 4 programs will "find" different files. That is due to the difference in the definition files currently available for each product.
StopZilla is the ONLY program I have ever come across that will ALWAYS defeat a hijacker. Your internet simply CANNOT be defeated if you are running StopZilla. I recently became infected by XP Security Center which placed a Zxx file on my computer and for two days I was getting a constant popup out of my lower right tray that was incredibly annoying. Not one program could remove this as it kept replecating itself and coming back. Thought I would have to go in and manually remove it, but the definition update last evening from StopZilla finally killed it.
I ran PC Tools Spyware Doctor for quite awhile also and it is a very good program, however not as effective as StopZilla. In addition, everytime you reboot your computer it takes forever for your computer comes back up while Spyware Doctor is scanning prior to making your computer "useable". In excess of 10 minutes usually. I finally got so tired of that I went to remove it. Uninstall does not work for Spyware Doctor. You have to go in and manually remove a bunch of files and registry settings.
For quite sometime now I have run ONLY my windows firewall and StopZilla. That is ALL for security on my machine and have had NO problems. I love the program so much I purchased it for both my parents and my daughters computers. I have recommended it on several ocassions to friends and co-workers who have picked up a hijacker in their system and StopZilla ALWAYS gets rid of it.
The program is incredibly easy to use, definition updates are kept up-to-date with the latest threats and after literally using every other program out there I can say without a doubt that this is the cream of the crop in my opinion.
For the person who said earlier go with Norton. Hahahaha! You do that and you will be forever cussing your system. It is CRAP. It is a HUGE program that often times will keep you from doing what you want to do on the internet because it considers EVERYTHING a threat LOL!
StopZilla and my windows firewall is the only ACTIVE security I have on at all times for over 3 years now and have NEVER had a problem. StopZilla rocks!!!

I didnt like that I had to buy a separate license for each computer in my home.
Summary
I am very satisfied with the Stopzilla program .. It is the only thing that seems to keep the antivirus 2008 or 2009 under control. I have multiple computers in my home and needed something to control the spyware and malware.. I have had excellent experience dealing with thier customer support and would like to commend Mike Becker for his exceptional service.

Except for a minor glitch in the installation, I've experienced no problems with this program. A few months ago my computer was infected with the XP 2000 Antivirus trojan and Stopzilla was the only software that would remove it. Cust svc is great!
Cons
Just two very minor glitches, one with installation and one with 64-bit encryption which does not impair performance at all.
Summary
I would encourage anyone to carefully read the great help files for the product and learn how to use it correctly. Don't believe everything you read.

It's an AWESOME popup blocker, but the other features are FAILURES.

I'm just after a re-format on my computer, after downloading STOPzilla it's MUCH slower than it was yesterday. It also doesn't pickup/remove spyware. it's a fake rip off. Try free spybot search and destory or adaware, both free and much better.

Pros
After installation, it blasted my whole (100% working and clean) system. Could not be uninstalled, blocked rollback, stopped Windows services. Cleaning the system from Stopzilla took me incl. complete frest installation of Windows, about 7 hours.

Will not remove spyware without payment and may create fake spyware to get you to buy the product. And it fecked my internet browser
