  Version: Stoik Video Converter Pro 2.1

  "Some good some bad"

  Pros: Nicer looking maybe. More options. It's free!

  Cons: A bit confusing for Luddites like me. Help is inadequate. Big downside was that I loaded it over the old version which worked fine for me for months. This new version would not accept for conversion files which had been OK before. I don't know much about video formats but have found with WMM it does not like DVD mpeg-1 (?) files. When I record my clips I want the highest quality on my Hauppage card so I used DVD. But WMM only accepts VCD (mpeg-2) so as they say GIGO!

  Version: Stoik Video Converter Pro 2.1

  "where's the new 2.1 version?"

  Pros: Worked well on a couple previous projects.

  Cons: The STOIK website and download.com both list the current version as 2.1 but only the older 2.0 version is available for download. Where's the newer version?

  "numerous crashes"

  Pros: simple interface

  many input and output options

  Cons: crashed on almost every encoding I did,

  slow,

  not the most intuitive interface
