Simple to configure, this keyboard- and mouse-monitoring program isn't completely hidden without the help of an administrator. Stealth Keyboard Interceptor installs as SKIn200, and is recognized by most antivirus software. However, the app is intended to be installed by an administrator who would allow it through the antivirus software's wall. Hidden while running, the multitab configuration window is the program's only interface. A basic Help file explains most functions.

Setting the program's configuration requires just a few check-box clicks. The app easily captures presses on standard keyboards, including keypad, function, cursor, and control keys. The app also captures mouse clicks and text captured during those clicks. However, mouse movement is not captured. It is very easy to set and capture window captions. A standard text log file contains all data captured. The user can easily set the log file to overwrite after a select size and enable encryption to keep the data private. The included program scheduler uses a few text boxes to set monitoring times, but allows only one time period per day. It just takes a couple of clicks to save or load user-set schedules.

SKIn200 uses simple notation to store mouse click, cursor control, and other non-key-press information. Nevertheless, it would take a little work to use the log files to recreate work performed on the system. Ease-of-use and simple log files will make this app a favorite for many users in need of monitoring software.
