We like the functionality of this program, which gives you a fine degree of control over the applications that launch at Windows start-up. You can choose which ones start, change the start-up sequence (useful for letting smaller programs launch before the big, slower applications), and set delays between application launches. Though Startup Faster 2004 may cut down your start-up time, the gain isn't dramatic. In our tests, Windows took 10 percent less time to start up. More tinkering may produce better gains and a lot will depend on how many programs you have set to automatically launch. The interface is clear. We like the help tips that appear when you mouse over elements of the interface, and it's convenient to be able to access the properties of a start-up item by right-clicking. If your system launches multiple applications at start-up, this program will help you fine-tune it and may gain you some boot-up speed.Publisher's description
From URSoft :Startup Faster 2004 makes your computer boot faster by launching your start-up applications one at a time rather than attempting to launch them all at once. As you may know, sometimes there are more than 30 programs launched by Windows at the same time, which causes Windows to boot up very slowly. With Startup Faster 2004 you can fully control how quickly programs launch and how they launch. It also includes a start-up manager, so you can take full control of the start-up programs and enable, disable, or permanently delete them.
Version 2.4.3 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

Version: Startup Faster 2004 2.4.3
"On my pc , it does nothing faster"
Pros: OK, maybe I didn"t give it a fair test, but I am a firm believer that you only need two items in your startup. One is your virus protection, and the other is your firewall. Anything else just slows your boot up time. I tried Startup Faster and it did not put my Panda Platinum in my system tray any faster than windows does. Maybe if you have 10 or 12 programs starting up it can regulate them, but why on earth would you want that many programs starting when you boot up?

Version: Startup Faster 2004 2.4.3
"Works as Advertised plain and simple."
Pros: Ability to control what apps are started automatically. Able to set a delay for each app as it starts to avoid competing for system resources. Ability to manually start apps originally excluded from the automatic startup. Saves time during reboot when compared to unmanaged startup. Stable and reliable. Works as advertised.
Cons: I like everything about the product that they have included. I would like to see the ability to create startup groups or profiles so I can group apps together for startup. This is useful when I am restarting the machine to play games and I want to exclude unnecessary items or when I am traveling and using the laptop and don't need extra apps, etc. I would also like to see the ability to be prompted for what to start up as an option. You can pause the app now but only to stop it altogether from loading apps. Then you have to manually start each one that you need. Overall great app. It works as advertised.

Version: Startup Faster 2004 2.4.3
Pros: It gives you a lot of control over the boot software. You can organize which program can run first and how much time it gets to load. This can really optimize your boot if you place your boot software in a good order with good timing. For example, on my computer, I would put as the first boot software a really small app and give it like 2 seconds (meanwhile Windows can load its services) then I would put my Antivirus and give a few seconds and then my firewall and so on. Startup faster optimizes your boot by allowing only one boot process at a time. On the other hand, Windows would just load them all at the same time and this can slow down the computer since there are many requests to the hard disc.
Remember, Startup faster is not a software that automaticaly optimizes your boot - you have to do it yourself. I did it and my boot time is now like 4 seconds (used to be like 12) and it doesn't lag the computer at boot as much as before
Cons: There are none if you know how to use this software
