SpywareBlaster is a simple program that provides protection from ActiveX-based software and unwanted cookies for both Firefox and Internet Explorer users.
SpywareBlaster has a simple interface that will be easy for even novices to navigate. The main screen shows the protection status for Internet Explorer, restricted Web sites, and Firefox. By default, protection is disabled for each of these, but you can easily enable ActiveX Protection and Cookie Protection for Internet Explorer, and Cookie Protection for Firefox. The restricted sites option lets you block the actions of known malware sites in Internet Explorer. If there are cookies or sites that you know to be harmless and need access to, an exception list lets you exclude these from being blocked. SpywareBlaster also has a System Snapshot tool that will create a record of your system settings, allowing you to easily restore them if they're altered by spyware. In addition to these tools, SpywareBlaster comes with options that let you adjust various browser settings and block Flash content and downloads entirely if desired. Overall, we found SpywareBlaster to be an easy-to-use tool that provides important protection for people who use Firefox and Internet Explorer.

"Looks good, but that's it. It really does't do much."

Pros
It adds sites to your IE blocked sites list. Locks your home page and search panes, but so does other software. Read in my "Summary " below for an explination.
Cons
Over 5+ years of using it I have supected small tweeks in Internet Explorer which I think were attributed to Spyware Blaster. Ran both Ad-Aware and Spybot before and after installation of Spyware Blaster and no difference in number of cookies . . .
Summary
It looks good but that is about it. I have used it over the years (because it is free) on three different computers. The only thing I have seen it do is add sites to your IE blocked sites list. In IE (Internet Explorer) go to "Tools" + "Intenet Options" + "Privacy" then "Sites" and you will see it will add to your list of "Managed Sites". Microsoft also updates this list if you do your regular Windows Security updates. Claims to run in the background but I have never found an entry in the Windows Registry or Windows Task Manager. Looks like it only adds blocked sites and changes settings in Internet Explorer when you start Spyware Blaster.

I've used spywareblaster for several years on several computers. Whenever I get a new computer, it is one of the first protections I put on a new machine right up there with the firewall and anti-virus.
Cons
I don't find any problems with it.
Summary
As far as I'm concerned, Spywareblaster is an essential security. It works in the background preventing a lot of nasty stuff from invading your machine. It's not complicated like some anti-spyware. It simply blocks bad websites.

I may be lucky and never encountered spyware, so I don't know if this product
does anything as it's never admitted to catching anything. Maybe it's a silent
assassin and says nothing after it blasts those pesky spies out of my PC. I just don't
know. You instal it, update it now and again and hit the protect button, take a snapshot
and you're done. It's a bit of extra peace of mind I suppose. -

Not being computer-savvy, this product is ideal for me. So simple, easy to use. I have been using Spyware Blaster for years - just need to upgrade it once in a while. I've never experienced any spyware or malware on my system. It does what it promises.

I've seen in alot of sites that people comment Spyware Blaster's better than Spyware S&D (Search+Destroy)
In my opinion it is too, it prevents alot of Spyware and Spyware S&D takes a really long time to scan, Spyware Blaster saves alot of that timeCons
