This spyware scanner and removal tool does the job, but enabling some functions may cause slight slowdowns and it's not ready for Vista.
Spyware Terminator's crisp, clean interface uses simple buttons and tabs to operate and set options. The latest spyware signatures are automatically downloaded, and the real-time protection keeps baby-sitting to a minimum. Real-time protection monitors key spyware types and Windows objects, though slight system slowdowns depend on your machine. Those features and the simple scheduler will make this app appealing to novices.
Advanced users will appreciate Spyware Terminator's flexibility. Setting the sensitivity of various scans is as easy as moving a slider. Experienced users will want to enable the built-in antivirus tool, which extends the power of real-time analysis by comparing program code against a database of known viruses, Trojans, and worms.

"Spyware Terminator problems with Internet Explorer"
Pros: Upon scanning PC Windows XP Pro with IE 6.0 and removing findings from Windows: Internet Explorer in HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer, Internet Explorer was unable to open any Internet pages until using System Restore to resolve issue.

Summary: This problem was submited to Spyware Terminator Tech support. We have unistalled this software from all our PC's for the time being as a safety measure.

"Not bad, if you have an assistant to answer questions."
Pros: Easy to use. Removed most if not all viruses etc. Real time protection can be turned on or off giving the user a choice as to whether to manually scan or automatic scan capability.
Cons: Way too many questions to be answered as in terms of what to allow, what apps to run and whether you want soup or salad.

Pros: The program finds lots of spyware!
Cons: Great if you have nothing urgent to do.

"Good Scanner but real-time protection is too intrusive"
Pros: Its scan for Spyware and viruses, it has an Internet immunizer and many easy to use scanning options like scanning for potentially malicious cookies and IE favorites.The real-time protection and automatic start-up are easy to disable.
Cons: Real-time protection is to intrusive and may stop good applications like Spyware Doctor from starting up.The real-time protection is similar to Comodo firewall which constantly asks you to allow or block applications from running.One False positive.
Summary: It detected only one false positive in my computer inside ClamWin Portable.Avast detects one false positive from Spyware Terminator's Clam AV Real-Time Protection component.If you are going to use the Real-Time Protection I recommend you customize e... read more >>

Pros: None just a bunch of nightmares! I tried this in the past and will never use this again! THIS IS GOT TO BE THE WORST ANTI-SPYWARE PRODUCT I HAVE EVER TRIED!
Cons: Awful just awful. I had this and I contantly had problems with the host process windows kept reporting that it failed. Also my audio card was shut down constanly because of the host process. I never had problems before I installed this.
