"Can't recommend based on trial."
Version: Spy Emergency 8.0.305
Pros
Scans really fast. Finds lots of spyware.
Cons
Unfortunately, it keeps finding the same spyware over and over.
Summary
I downloaded this for trial. As soon as I find the right software I will buy it, but I need to know if it does what it says before I shell out the money. This one scanned really fast, found several trojans, malware, spyware, etc. Then it said it deleted them. I ran the scan again, and lo and behold, it finds the very same trojans, malware and spyware all over again.
I rebooted and tried again, with the same result. I need a spyware remover that,...oh, I don't know......actually "removes" the spyware, rather than just saying it does, then finding it over and over again.
If it did what it says it does, I would be happy to buy it, because it did find several things. But I don't want to risk my money paying for something that may do the same thing after it is purchased. YMMV. -

"Not worth the risk"
Version: Spy Emergency 3.0.190
Pros
None that I could find
Cons
Doesnt really uninstall so causes conflicts with other A/V etc software when you try to install them.
Summary
I class this almost as malware itself. It doesnt fully uninstall and leaves bread crumbs that trip other other a/v solutions when you try and install them. Support is non-existant and there is no documentation on how to remove the remnants it left behind.

"THIS IS A SCAMWARE!"
Version: Spy Emergency 6.0.705
Pros
None. Netcom3 is good at scamming.

"When it works, theres none better."
Version: Spy Emergency 6.0.305
Pros
When it works, theres none better. I don't know what the folks at Negate are doing but it seems every other version update sucks. This one does. But the last one that weighs in at 38.4 MB is great. Why" because it has an x64 version in it's exe.
Cons
This version won't run on my X64 Vista Ultimate! The last one runs great * it has an x64 in it's installer exe! This is the only X64 anti-spy app that I've ever found. It has great shields that respond in a heartbeat. An occasional false positive.
Summary
Why is it so good? Because it's the only anti-spy app that actually has a 64 version built into the installer exe. The problem is the folks at Negate don't understand the meaning of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"! I'm sure glad I didn't delete the 2009 version thats 38.4 mb in size. This one's 42,4 & what ever they added needs to be removed! It messes up the system in both x86 & x64. Makes the machine refuse to shut down on it's own. Can't connect to their server & the list goes on.

"Reviewing for an X64 system only."
Version: Spy Emergency 6.0.305
Pros
A real life saver for me on my Vista Ultimate, X^$ system. Quick scans, quick to load, huge signature file. Almost to big so theres an occasional false positive which I can live with. Clean, skinable UI, easy to use & never misses a scheduled scan.
Cons
A real problem child on 32 bit versions of Vista. Everything from software conflicts with my second Anti-Spy app to hanging during a scan. Takes forever to load, hangs while scanning. Just a real mess on 32 bit Vista which is to bad!
Summary
I've said it all in pros & cons. Highly recommended for 64bit systems. Just the opposite for 32 bit systems.

"It works fine for me!"
Version: Spy Emergency 6.0.195
Pros
2008 gave me fits on Vista back when I had an x86 system. I just got my new PC & needed an AS app so I tried tis one & it runs great. I had no false positives at all. Fast scans on a schedule. Huge signature file. Great looking skins.
Cons
So far, none. maybe its actually better on a 64 bit system then a 32. I'm running vista Ultimate x64 with a quad core chip & 6 GB of ram. That could be why I'm not having issues. but with such a hube data base, false positives are expected.
Summary
It works great for me. Much better then previous versions that did all kinds of strange stuff to my vista 32 bit system. Like slowing shutdown so bad I removed it & it gave me a few false positives. Thats a simple fix. After using Spy Sweeper with ESET Smart Security, I came to know the data on my system. So, if & when I get a false positive & I'm sure i will, I'll just add it o th keep list. Recommended for Vista (64 Bit systems) only because thats what I have now. I just can't say about systems that I no longer use.

"MESSED UP MY NEW LAPTOP !"
Version: Spy Emergency 6.0.195
Pros
Easy to use.Nice looking application.Does the job.
Cons
It worked fine on my old XP machine, not my new vista machine, it picked up a lot of false positives. 400-500 items, files needed by my operating system.
I uninstalled and wow. My registry was inundated with unmovable items.Had to do a system restore!Summary
Used to work fine on XP.Not very good on Vista.Beware Vista people!
Left lots of files, data and registry problems on my new laptop after uninstall.
System restore saved my bacon! -
"The best of its kind"
Version: Spy Emergency 5.0.605.0
Pros
Light on resources, scans very fast, very thoroughly. Scans for rootkits on boot-up. With one of the better Internet Suites (F-Secure or Kaspersky) and something like Bill P Studios' Win Patrol, this will give you all the protection you need
Cons
Not really any. Only 15 day trial, but come on, only $30 to buy. If you spend anything on software, spend it on this and a good internet suite. Netgate do a full suite too, but haven't tried it out yet. I use it as above.
Summary
I've been using this application for four or five years now, and never had a complaint. My defence line-up is F-Secure or Kaspersky Internet suite, Spy Emergency, Win Patrol, and Peer guardian with MyPlanetSoft Anti-Keylogger, and I have never had an infection that was not caused by my own stupidity (disabling AV & SE to open a file they wouldn't let me open !). Because I know it and trust it, I am reluctant to give up F-Secure, and if I did I'd probably go for Kaspersky, again because I know and trust it, but judging by Spy Emergency, I wouldn't hesitate to advise at least trying http://www.download.com/Netgate-Internet-Security-2008/3000-2239_4-10827179.html from the same company ($50).
What I have found, too, is that if I get a client's PC infected by something like Antivirus 2008, 2009, or 2010, Spy Emergency will find and disable it and ask you to restart. On re-start, boot to Safe Mode with Networking and run an online scan from any of the biggie AV companies (again I recommend F-Secure or Kaspersky).
TRY Spy Emergency ! Once you've got used to it, you are prertty sure to buy it !
(I am not an employee or representative of any of the companies mentioned, just a satisfied user !)
