"Not the worst but not the best either."
Version: Spring Cleaning 11.0.1
Pros
Good instructions
Cons
Need to be computer savvy to work the program and know how to do things.
Summary
I found this good for finding things that need to be done with computer but the bad thing is I am not computer savvy enough to know how to do the cleaning needed even with the program. Needs better controls that will tell you how to do things better and how to distinguish the good from the bad.

"Third party shareware products do what this does"
Version: Spring Cleaning 11.0.1
Pros
Maybe I need to read a manual but this product seems to do what third party shareware products do but the shareware products I use Cocktail and Appzapper seem simpler.
Cons
A lot of one step processes to spring clean. Some things I ask it to do I'm hesitant to run on the results. At first look it seems relatively intuitive but there's more complexity here than meets the initial glance.
Summary
I'd say save you money. I'm not really sure this is worth it.

"Crashed three times in the first day of use!"
Version: Spring Cleaning 11.0.1
Pros
Unfortunately, at this moment nothing, since I could not find a function that would work, and after three major crashes on trying to functions, my iMac was left in such a bad state, that I needed another tool to fix it.
Cons
The tools crashed three times on two different functions I tried to use, ultimately jamming my hard disk with a 132GB file, for which I needed a professional utility to find and remove.
Summary
Avoid at all costs, until they have released a stable product, and yes, as a software developer I know that it's not easy, but these kind of utilities have to be rock solid before release, since they can really create havock on your machine, if they don't work.

"3 day trial only.!! Can't access with v10 serial no"
Version: Spring Cleaning 11.0
Pros
Good product . Works well doing useful things
Cons
Be aware!! This is a charged upGRADE, not an update. Firm has very mean 3 days only trial period, not a demo version.
Summary
Firm has very mean attitude to upgrade trial and pricing.
-
"This was not worth even the upgrade price."
Version: Spring Cleaning 10.0.1
Pros
looks the same as version 9
Cons
used the slimming program, made all my programs unusable, thank God for Time Machine!
Summary
even though I only paid $20 as an upgrade I really wish I could get my money back

"Untrustworthy vendor"
Version: Spring Cleaning 10.0
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I am completely annoyed by their dial home e-mail tool. There is no information on what they send out, how they use it or where it goes. Fortunately, PGP blocks it most of the time, but I've had it and am removing the utility in favor of CleanMyMac. -
"Always a disappointment"
Version: Spring Cleaning 9.0
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me 9 times? There are no words to describe the horrible feeling of having paid to upgrade, only to have the new version be no better, with no improvements to the many problems. I have consistently had to uninstall both Spring Cleaning and the equally horrible Internet Cleanup by the same company because they were screwing up my mac.
Actually, I realized what it's like: like being Charlie Brown, and hoping / believing that Lucy won't pull the football away at the last second...until she does, again. -
"Allume: Unfriendly to customers"
Version: Spring Cleaning 8.0
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I had a hard disk problem and when fixed Spring Cleaning wouldn't run. I went back to my order page on the Allume website and tried to download. It turns out Allume charges you extra to download a replacement copy. Only company I know of that does this.
The program is extremely slow and not particularly useful so, confronted with this stupid company and mediocre software, I have deleted the offending program. There is anther program called Tidy Up that does a lot of what SC does, much faster and the company seems to still remember that the customer is always right, which Allume has forgotton.

"Don't bother"
Version: Spring Cleaning 6.0.1
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Spring Cleaning 6.0.1 came bundled with Norton SystemWorks 3.0. Now I realise why they give it away for free. I have tried and tried to use SC's Orphaned Pref finder and MacUninstaller.
Everyone talks about how slow it is, but you really can't underestimate how inaccurate it is either.
Wanting to uninstall Roxio DVD compression software, SC came up with its list of "related files" to delete. They included four font files, a PageMaker resource file, the installer for Windows Media Player (!), a user cache for Adobe Acrobat, and a Core Audio resource file. Period.
I give up. I will never use this utility again.
(Interestingly enough, though, despite the warnings all over the net about the propensity for Norton SystemWorks to eat your hard drive, it's worked a treat for me SO LONG AS I boot into Emergency Mode from the CD).
