It may do something to speed up your system, but it's just not clear what that is. SpeedItUp Free's dialog-sized, multitabbed interface is fairly simple to operate, but the one-page Help file doesn't give much explanation about what it's going to do.
Operating SpeedItUp Free is a mere matter of choosing from four options and pressing a single button. Additional tabs lets users individually start two of the speed options. Expert users will dislike the poor and missing explanations of this program's functions. The application's instructions state it optimizes Windows settings without listing the extent of those changes. The same problem applies to the hard drive cleaning function. It moves clusters of data without explanation. The RAM speed function follows similar tools by removing sleeping and closed apps from memory. It's less a speed boosting function than a memory cleaning tool. An Internet trace-cleaning tool feels tacked onto this application. Testers found little system speed improvement with this program.
After each operation, this freeware application displays an advertisement for another program. Expert users will find SpeedItUp Free far too inflexible. Some users may benefit on older and poorly maintained systems, but most users won't experience any difference after using it.

had to cntrl+alt+ dlt a few times as pop ups kept running and telling me I needed to buy the product because my computer was infected.

Do not download, or use this product...I am surprised that CNET would have such a product endorsed at all...an uninformed non-computer literate person might fall for this and be thankful that they found a product that "SUPPOSEDLY" helped remove a BOGUS virus..it actually asked me when I was trying to terminate the the scan "ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO STAY INFECTED? Do NOT use this program as it leads to this stuff...I would rate it with no stars but there is not an option for that (yet).

Well it would not even work on my pc , it downloaded crappy extra programs I have never heard of , of course they worked . Did not want them.

I feel it was just a lot of hidden adware that they installed without even asking for your permission . I was willing to try speed -it up if it had worked . So I'm sorry I can not say more . I uninstalled it all immediately and ran several scans to see what other they may have left on my pc . So I can't reccomend it at all .
