Version: Sound Forge 7.0
"Best audio editing tool forever!"
Pros: Much better than free program, Audacity. Has a lot of effects available to edit music. Has intuitive interface. Very easy to use. Can also improve sound quality. Quite configurable. Very good, I bought it.
Cons: Huge installer size. Launching app is quite slow, about 3-7 secs. The rest, perfect.

Version: Sound Forge 7.0
"Something every sound engineer needs in the studio."
Pros: Piles of effects and easy tweaking for custom settings. Seamless plug-in support makes sure you're never short of the right sound. Just as all previous versions, the interface makes sound manipulation a joy. Wouldn't wanna work without it.
Cons: It should be made clear on the wrapper that home users need not apply! The cost alone is a warning of what to expect inside. As a consumer, I'd like to see a streamlined version for normal music fans. Not everyone works in a pro sound engineer capcity, and for this reason I feel they've overhit the mark a little. You need a degree in sound engineering to appreciate the depth of this editor. Something I've seen in other software of this sort is the ability to work on the sound in memory. Perhaps this can be added to later versions. Apart from that, it's a more than ample addition to the professional's toy collection.
