Capturing screenshots may not be glamorous, but at least SnagIt makes it simple. SnagIt lets you capture any part of your screen, from a partial image to the entire contents of a scrolling window. You can grab images of Web sites and software applications or pictures from scanners and digital cameras. You even can capture video and record screen action in AVI format.
Editing tools let you manipulate and enhance captures using effects (such as Brightness, Hue, and Saturation), filters, and borders. You can add arrows, substitute colors in the captured image, or create dark or light backgrounds with a single click. Version 8 adds several interactive features, such as saving Web pages with HTML links, adding hot spots and rollover states to objects and areas, and exporting files in SWF and PDF formats.
This program outdoes itself in features, so figuring out the menu structure may take a while, but the GUI additions in version 8 are a welcome addition. Unfortunately, the latest update is just as slow to start as the last version. Even with its package of powerful options, we found SnagIt flexible and easy to use. Balloon tips, wizards, and an online video tutorial make it simple for beginners, and its sophisticated capabilities will satisfy advanced users.

Pros: This program is easy and simple to use and works great. I used to to capture allot of cool flash videos of the net, so i got allot of use out of it. I plan to buy it soon now as my free trial has expired

Pros: I do a lot of work with pictures and until now I have had to use different programs to get the results I want. This has everything under one roof so to speak. I can capture multiple images from a page and save in jpeg or any other format, resize and add captions in balloons. The program is so easy to use and there are text instructions and a video which is an added bonus

"Should Get A 10-Star Rating!!!!!"
Pros: I can't rant enough. You guys outdid yourselves! I've purchased a lot of programs in the last 8 years but this program has got to be the best ever...not only in terms of content but its so frightenly uncomplicated! Your "tips" at the beginning show tutorials for each feature, which I thought was outstanding. Heck, you just can't get anymore simpler!
Before I even went through any of the tutorials, I did my first video (had to show someone how to do a task on the desktop). I'm tellin' ya.....this program.....well, I just can't rant enough. HALF of the features are enough to charge more than you do. Jeesh! I also ordered the CD since I'll be reformatting my HD soon I wanted to be able to reload the program right away. I ordered the CD Tues. nite and got it TODAY!.....2 DAYS!!! WOW!
You people who created this program could probably make a million going around the country and teaching programmers how to do it the right way. If all the programs I've ever purchased were HALF AS GOOD as this one I'd probably be dead from multiple orgasms!!!
Cons: The only thing I haven't quite figured out is the text part in a video. When I play back the video the text is hard to read and I have to change graphic display, which means, if I send it to someone, perhaps they need to change their graphic display to read the wording.

"Well thought out, heavy duty Screen Capture Tool"
Pros: Despite being a full featured program its ease of use with lots of tutorials, tips and excellent resources make this program one that sits in my tray always. I use this program many times a day. I try to use freeware whenever possible;
I was impressed enough with this program that I bought it. There are many plug-ins and add-ons that the company provides including a Firefox plug-in.
Cons: I am not saying there isn't issues with this program, but I've yet to run into any and I've been using it pretty much every day steady for 60+ days.
