SnagIt/32 allows users to capture, manage, manipulate, and print images, text, and video. Users are given the option to capture the entire screen, a window, or an arbitrary rectangle. It comes with special support for capturing menus and repeatedly capturing fixed-sized images, the entire contents of scrolling windows, DOS screens, and desktop animation sequences (video or user interface activities, for example). Tools for image processing include brightness, contrast, hue, sharpen, scale, color reduction, and color substitution. SnagIt/32 also converts most text blocks on the desktop to machine-readable text, even where cut and paste operations don't work. Additional features include a DDE (direct data entry) interface and thumbnail browser. Version 4.2 offers expanded image manipulation capabilities, support for the PNG file format, and enhanced smooth scaling of text images.
