It's hard to stand out in the crowded field of defraggers, but SmartDefrag is able to do so with an unexpected twist.
Along with quick analysis and scans, SmartDefrag boasts an automated defragger that continually defrags the files that you use the most, and does it without becoming a persistent drag on your system resources. When running in the background, the program only eats up 14MB of RAM, so it's possible to run it smoothly on older machines.
Other features we like include a scheduler you can set up to defrag whenever you want and some customization features if you want the program to start when Windows loads or right before logging off. You also can set it to shutdown your computer when it's done defragging your hard drives and partitions.
Overall, if you would like a handy defragger with options for scheduling and more, this is a great defragger for both novices and more experienced users.

Version: Smart Defrag 1.02
"Don't trust anything to do with this program."
Pros: There were none to speak of. It's not overly fast, and I'm not very sure it was at all effective.
Cons: not very fast, I did'nt come across the major problems until the next morning when I went to log on. Back at the end of November, I downloaded this and little did I know there was malware attached to it. I've had the computer cleaned out three times.
Summary: Don't trust it!

"Took down my operating system"
Pros: Did not even get a chance to evaluate the program.
Cons: It destroyed my operating system and all my data

Version: Smart Defrag 1.02
Pros: It works faster than any defragmenter I have ever used, including the excellent AusLogics product.
Cons: What *is* this thing doing when I am not looking. It seems restore points were being created nearly every hour after I used Smart Defrag. Why? I have no idea. I've not removed the program, but will be very sparing in its use.
Summary: If you are already using AusLogics Disk Defrag, there is no reason to add this odd little program to your computer.

Pros: easy to use interface
Cons: when you try to uninstall this program that dosent remove it it's still on your pc only way to remove it was system restore or reformat the hd
