With its free Internet calling service, Skype is turning the international telecommunications market on its head. This download now brings the service's high-quality voice calls, easy instant messaging, and voicemail to handheld computers. Users can make international calls to other Skype users for free, simply by selecting the desired person from the contact list and pushing the Call button. The service also allows users to call regular land-line and mobile-phone numbers, although this feature costs extra money. The Skype interface is simple and intuitive, with a tab-based design that even beginners can figure out quickly. The program guides new users through the installation process, bringing them painlessly online. All told, we would happily recommend this to anyone with a Pocket PC.

  "Chat and talk on my hx4700"

  Pros: the chat feature works flawlessly. The phone feature does not work very well even with my iPAQ with 624Mhz and almost 30MB of allocated memory. But it works!

  Cons: Don't let me to create a username on the PDA. Try to improve the sound encode and decode

  "I think it doesn't work on pocket pc 2002"

  Cons: even though cnet & windows market tells you it works on the pocket pc 2002 platform a check on skype website told me it works only on 2003 or wm 5.0 skype.com/download/skype/mobile/

  "Voice is fine - but no SMS/Texting"

  Pros: Voice works OK, as you'd expect, with SkypeOut fine.

  Cons: Why has the PocketPC version NOT got SMS/texting over mobiles as it's PC-based versions do?
