This program moves beyond napkin sketching to communicating ideas in 3D. SketchUp takes what may traditionally be seen as a complicated task and adds an intuitiveness many design programs fail to achieve. On first impression, this sketch-based 3D-modeling program may look as if it has sacrificed function for simplicity, but that's not the case. Despite the extremely user-friendly interface, SketchUp offers a suite of powerful 3D-drawing tools that let you experiment and play with new designs. All actions are carried out using two button bars, one that runs down the left side and another that sits along the top of the work space. After you simply sketch and draw edges, the application fills in the objects to create 3D geometry. SketchUp handles perspective and alignment calculations automatically. You can then export these objects into CAD, 3D-modeling, image-editing, illustration, or animation programs for further manipulation and editing. Functionality and price mark this for professional use, but curious amateurs may enjoy exploring the demo.Publisher's description

"It actually is easy and no problems."
Pros: Easy interface. Millions of packages online comtaining objects people signs, EVERYTHING! It has made it easy to construct buildings. I evebn mademy room. It has materials, colors, lighting and shadow options. Tutorial was helpful and cool. Great online stuff. Would be amazazing for business/work (building plans, movie set planning...).
Cons: Animation was hard to work out. Some tools such as rotation were hard to use (but you just hardto drag it in a certain way). Not sure if it really is worth $495.00.

"The best, easiest, most realistic looking in the world."
Pros: You can design anything! You can make extremely detailed things with ease. and you never have to type in exact dimensions in a seperate menu. you can strech a 2d object with a strech tool. you just click on a single face and move the mouse, and it adds depth, you can even draw things then make them 3d. it took me eleven minutes to completly design my entire house with my yard and i even added a pothole that was in my sidewalk. you can make mountains and yards very easy.
Cons: Expensive, only an 8 hour trial.

Pros: This has got to be one of the best programs Ive downloaded. This program gives you a step by step guide on how to use their product. I have recomeded this to my college. Alot of students can design but some just can get their color or shading right, this knocks it out the box for them. Its great.
Cons: The product ends in 30 days and is a bit costly. But I'm saving for it !
