A few performance issues aside, we generally like what this audio recorder has to offer. Skado's cleverly designed main interface mimics a remote control and provides icons for accessing all the program's options and actions. One of this application's nicest aspects is that it automatically detects any audio that's playing on your PC and immediately begins recording it as a WAV, WMA, or MP3 file at your specified quality level. Unfortunately, in some tests, Skado caused our default jukebox program to skip while it was playing tunes, which resulted in a poor-quality recording. The app also lets you record from sources such as a CD player or a line-in jack and supplies a scheduling feature, perfect for streaming-audio fans. The latter folks especially will appreciate a built-in splitting utility for dicing long programs into songs or segments. So long as you don't frequently encounter the audio-skipping glitch we noticed, Skado makes a flexible recording option.Publisher's description

Version: Skado 1.0.6.103
Pros: I'm addicted to BBC radio. They offer streaming audio for most shows not available via podcast. Still, it's nice to be able to snag that audio stream and load it on my iPod. This product allows me to do just that.
Best of all: it has a timer!! Just give Skado the URL of the streaming audio you want to record and tell it what time to launch your browser and how long to run. Yes, I was wary, too, when I first read that, but it worked seamlessly!
Download the trial version and give it a whirl. You won't be disappointed.
Cons: Interface can be clunky, but by *no means* a deal breaker.

Version: Skado 1.0.6.103
"Really Cool way to save and record music!"
Pros: I listen to Yahoos Launch Cast Radio all the time and now have a way of saving off music that I like. It is really amazing how well this program works with this music website. Skado starts and stops the recordings perfectly. Now I can listen to music I have saved using Skado when I am traveling or on a place. It's totally awesome.

Pros: Simple GUI and had not problems capturing the sound coming from the sound card whatever the source.
Cons: none

Version: Skado 1.0.6.103
Pros: Price and basic funcitonality - it gets the job done. Better than the others I looked at. Although, I have not been really impressed by any of them. Help is better than most.
Cons: Split function has issues: very very very slow, trim silence does not work. When manually split a track, it seems to split about 1 minute earlier than where I selected. No option to just stop recording after a certain amount of time that is longer than 6 seconds. Track splitting silence maximum is 6 seconds. The "File Manager" is so basic it should really be called a "File List". No multiple track functions. No filters for noise, hiss, etc... I can think of dozens of little improvements that would make this a great product rather than just a mediocre one.
