Download the demo. If you like it, buy the game IMMEDIATELY. The demo is too limited. I found the game at Radio Shack for $10 in the computer CDs rack recently. I'm still on the lookout for Alien Crossfire (the expansion pack).

Summary
Compared to the latest Meier game (CivIII), the graphics and sound may be a bit shaded but the gameplay on this game is the best bar none. I have trouble trying to think of a game that can hold up a candle to this calculated and excellent game. I love it!

I love this game one of the best turnbased stratagy games ive ever played this anouther example of a Sid Meyer team comming together to create excelence. There are a wealth of factions to choose from with specialties and disadvantages that make sence for their group. The only problem is when you get many formers and military units on the screen. The large amount of micromanaging needed to keep the cities running is great as well when choosing a large map beware that winning by military means will be all but imposible.

Summary
Good storyline, gameplay and options. Highly recommended. Any sci-fi freak will love it. The non-linear gameplay is very refreshing. Compared to the competitors (Star General, StarCraft, Star Wars and Star Trek) it outranks them all.
