Create grocery lists with this convoluted application packed with features you'd expect as well as others we found unnecessary. Shoppingmate's amateurishly designed interface, with cheesy picture buttons used to signify functions and features, won't suit some palates. It's relatively easy to select both food and nonfood items from a prepopulated, treelike shopping list. You'll need to input prices for each item, but the application instantly calculates the total costs based on the quantity you provide. The program keeps a graph of purchases and previous transactions you've made. Although we like the idea of a recipe database and a meal planner, Shoppingmate's versions don't come with any preloaded samples. Additionally, we found the inclusion of the bank account feature unnecessary. The 40-use trial is long enough to determine whether you want to continue with this busy, feature-laded program or move to another, less complex one.
