This handy utility enhances the functionality of Windows' Task Manager by warning you about potential system threats.
Upon launch, Security Task Manager automatically scans your PC to find all running programs. It then displays information about each application in a sortable list, including name, CPU usage, size, manufacturer, and risk factor. Highlighting each entry gives you more detailed data on running processes, including a description of what it does and how much of a threat it poses to your system. If Security Task Manager finds a potentially malevolent program, you can remove or quarantine it.
Especially handy is the feature that automatically searches Google for information about a specific program with a single click. Though it doesn't offer a wide range of features, this program will be useful to those looking for an extra layer of system protection.

From A. & M. Neuber :Security Task Manager displays detailed information about all running processes (applications, DLLs, BHOs, and services). For each process, it improves on Windows Task Manager, providing file path, security risk rating, description, start time, CPU usage graph, embedded hidden functions (for example keyboard monitoring, autostart entry, and browser supervision or manipulation), and process type, such as visible window, systray program, DLL, and IE plug-in. The security risk rating indicates the likelihood of the process being potential spyware, malware, a Trojan, or keylogger. It also deletes traces of your Internet and computer activity, prevents keyboard input monitoring, and warns you when the registry is changed.
Version 1.6e features better process names and descriptions, further hidden startup methods, 64 bit processor adaptation (DEP), extended list of trustworthy processes, uninstallation of processes/programs, fixed bugs.

Version: Security Task Manager 1.6e
"very nice ... helped me out big time"
Pros: this is much more comprehensive than the task manager that is built into windows, and it helped me stop some very stubborn malware, that my antivirus and spyware programs couldnt seem to eliminate.
Cons: the gui isnt the friendlest ... it just needs to look a little cleaner, but it does the job,... oh and it's not free

"Work exactly as the Task Manager but is NOT free! Worthless.."
Pros: Nope, nothing to say!
Cons: Why should you bother to pay anything for a product when it is already available, for FREE. The Task Manager does exactly the same thing.

Pros: I have been struggling to keep my computer running (XP) despite a malicious attack of viruses and worms for a week now. I run Norton, Zone Alarm and some other good tools, yet Security Task Manager is what made end to it all. It found the malicious core and eliminated it - Great Tool Indeed! Thank You!

"Is a perfect program with no mess and easy 2 use."
Pros: I highly recomend this for virus, adware and spyware romoval. An esential tool for keeping a pc running fast with no hasle.
Cons: Theres nothing wrong with it =) Is just good all round and i expect will continue to improve.

"First "Trial ware" I've ever actually bought. Fantastic prog."
Pros: Within an hour after I installed this beauty I freed approximately 80 megs of processes I didn't need - even ones I THOUGHT were needed. I didn't even bother testing how much faster my system is cause it is sooo obvious. The best part so far is the fact that it is so easy to get the info you need about each process and make an informed decision. This program completes everything I need to keep my system running fast and smooth.
Get this along with the freeware :Spybot AND Add-Aware, ZoneAlarm(firewall), and Avast(antivirus) and I firmly believe you'll be secure all around.
Cons: I've paid for it by credit card and got my confirmation email but no unlock code yet(its only been a couple hours though and I'm pretty confident it will come). If it doesn't within a day I'll repost here.
