Not only does Secunia Personal Software Inspector provide extensive details on the software installed on your computer, it also gives you direct links to update programs that are older and potentially not secure.
The interface mixes professional layout with a text-heavy, spartan design. At the top right of the program window, users can choose a Simple or Advanced layout. Under Simple, Secunia provides basic information about the installed program statuses, with a chart to gauge their security over time and a simplified listing of any errors. Clicking on an error leads you through the proprietary Easy-to-Patch program update process, which automatically excludes more challenging updates. The Advanced layout tab exposes more details and more updates. It also checks your Microsoft XML, your Adobe Flash player installation, and others programs, looking for mission-critical holes and their respective updates. Installed programs get flagged as Patched, End-of-Life, and Insecure, with the most recent reported threat noted with a colored bar and a mouse-over label on the right column.
Scanning can be slow, and occasionally the scan restarted for a second round automatically after completing its first pass. However, the update process was seamless, and once you update a program, it moves into the Patched list after about 5 minutes, because Secunia defaults to run in the background. The End-of-Life tab offers up a toolbox with quick access to Add/Remove Programs, the listed software's folder, and online references. Secunia's plain language for instructions and explanations enhances the already robust update package, making this a highly-recommended freeware.

Version: Secunia Personal Software Inspector 1
Pros: It does a vulnerabilty scan for insecure missing windows updates, i Tunes, and all other installed programs.
Then it provides links to update windows, and all other installed programs that are old and out of date so they can be updated.Cons: Scan time is slow.

"Told me that Vista was a security risk to Vista :D"
Pros: +Good concept.
+I laughed when Vista came up as a major security risk.Cons: -After an update of Vista and refreshing the program, it still told me that Vista was a major security risk.
-Didn't show any other programs, even though there were programs I knew I needed to update.Summary: It was funny at first, but my computer's security isn't something I joke about.

Pros: scans all products installed,rates them, and provides a link to correct any problems, did not see the trojan that has been mentioned by other users
Cons: I don't see why it has to autostart with windows and could include a lot more products. Plus a better explanation of the color coded security bar is necessary and corrective measures to take.
Summary: As of today I enjoy the product.Secunia PSI , the features are adequate and focused.the engine could be a little bit faster in scanning .

Pros: a very interesting program though
Cons: once you see the trojan warning coming up, everything is gone.

"Great! Lets you know what is outdated/needs fixing"
Pros: I don't always download every fix as soon as it is available, preferring to wait a bit, but then sometimes I forget to update it later. Product keeps me informed, spots Trojans. I run once a week in "Advanced" mode to see software affected.
Cons: After updating as needed, PSI doesn't immediately register it, so another scan is required - which is no big deal, and probably should be done anyway to ensure everything was done properly.
Summary: I would highly recommend this product, run it once a week or so, see what software requires attention, and you can click on the click to update accordingly. Great product!
