From TheCNLab:Drive, as an electronic device, or as a combination of mechanics and electronics, is performed by its absolute physical speed and data put rate. On the other hand, any drive is connected to a system, and the optimum algorithm as a more economical approach to the best possible on-system performance is widely used. Whence, SciMark Standard Drives is measuring drives on the operating system level, in order to see how fast it could be in real life. There would be a large file made, but nothing will be more than write and read. It is good to measure the throughout of most kinds of drives. It can run on both x86_32bit and x86_64bit system.
Version 2007.08.04 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.
