Lots of games appeal to your inner Bart Simpson, but what about your Principal Skinner? Finally, there's a game for him too. In School Tycoon, you play an up-and-coming headmaster. Your job is to construct buildings for academics, administration, maintenance, and sports, and to fill those buildings with teachers, coaches, and staff. On top of that, you have to keep the students in a good mood by providing top-notch facilities for studying and relaxing. And you have to do it all within your budget, of course. We liked the game's graphics. The colors are vibrant and the buildings distinct, so you won't, for instance, confuse two different classrooms. Similarly, the teachers, trainers, cooks, and other staff have their own unique characteristics: some are stricter, others have more skills, and some are more fun to be around. On the downside, some users have reported stability issues, and the 60-minute trial is frankly ridiculous considering how much time you'll have to spend downloading the 300MB trial version. Ramones fans also may be disappointed that they can't build a truly rock 'n' roll high school with this game. But overall, we think pedagogues and apple polishers of all ages will get a kick out of School Tycoon.

Don't buy it. The game doesn't work AT ALL! First off, they give you no instruction manual, leaving you ti fugure the game out on your own. You could get hit by 4 tornados in 1 school year. It's also impossible to put out wildfires! The game freezes after 10 seconds of play. Even if you DO save it, it normally doesn't. The graphics are nice and the concept of the game is nice, but the cons over rule in this game. You hardly get any money to start out with. In order to build a large math room, you need to build many other things first- all of which are VERY expensive. It is impossible to play without money. In every scenerio, you must use money, locked things, and even natural disasters. You can't play without them. The game is just junk. Really, don't but the game. It's junk. I, personally, wouldn't buy any games from Cat Daddy Games (the creator). Most of their games ARE junk.

I am giving this software the benefit of the doubt, based on others reviews of this game, and giving it 3 stars to start with. However, I am running a cable modem and it is still saying it will take 3 hours and 19 minutes to download this one-hour trial. Me thinks there be a problem matey...

nice graphics and play for a budget game.

super simple, impossible to loose, and you can buy/build everything within 30 minutes. Considering that the main install for the full game says "now you get to rule "your" school" I would imagine thats who its targeted towards. Ran through easy and medium challenges within 20 minutes without failing onces. Again way too easy
