From Satimage-software:

The Satimage Scripting Addition (or "osax") for OS 8.6/9 implements several technologies into AppleScript, making them available to all scripters. The scripters in the scientific, educational and engineering fields may be particularly interested. Features include:

  • Regular Expressions, the standard language for advanced text search and replace
  • resource manipulation
  • "backup", a fast and highly customizable incremental files backup command
The Satimage osax also includes various basically useful commands.
