Isn't it time to retire all those bookmarks that expired months ago? Too many bookmarks just make things sluggish. This application displays Safari's bookmarks in an iTunes-like list, and determines if they point to dead and missing links. The columns allow for sorting based on name, URL, but also on type of scan Error code. Allows the user to delete any bookmarks without going to Safari. The user has full control over the process, can decide to scan through all bookmarks or s selection, and can also test individual bookmarks directly by launching them from the application. Note that a backup copy of the bookmarks file is generated so in no cases can bookmarks be lost.
What's new in this version: Update: addresses an issue where the bookmarks file could be corrupt if the last bookmark in the list was deleted (see poster comments, thanks Ryan and Ludwik for pointing it out). Safari is quit automatically prior to deleting files to avoid colliding read/write errors (thanks Peter). A Help menu is now featured as well as an automatic version checker.
