From KC Softwares :SUMo stands for software update monitor. With SUMo you'll be able to keep your PC up-to-date by using the most recent version of your favorite software. Unlike build-in auto update features, SUMo tells you if updates are available before you need to use your software. Multiple instances of the same products are found with different version, only the newest shall appear. Version 2.3.5.61 has improved version detection algorithm.

Pros: It just works.
Cons: More speed would be nice. Norton is much faster this year.
Summary: Think about adding device drivers.

Version: SUMo 2.3.5.61
Pros: I've been looking for a Windows equivalent to the Gnome Synaptic Package Manager. This is the closest I've found so far. It's quick and easy to scan your currently installed applications, check for updates, and then download the new installers.
Cons: There's no way to go into an advanced mode and specify additional online sources to check for updates. I suppose that's just a trade off between simplicity and functionality though.
Summary: This tool is fast, extremely simple to use, and gets the job done. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a one-stop-shop for program updates.

Pros: lists all programs on your computer as to which updates exist
Cons: provides for updates only from download.com, Majorgeeks, File Forum or netsonic. Does not advise when download only available from other sources, such as flash or shockwave from adobe, etc. Does not advise when updates have to be purchased
Summary: The price is better than Version Pro, and I would recommend use of Sumo before buying Version Pro.

"Extremely easy to install and use."
Pros: Finds all installed programs and searches Internet for updates. Makes getting updates easier than if had to search for them all on my own. Lets me know that there are updates available for programs that I haven't used in awhile.
Cons: some updates turn out to be completely new versions - only a problem when the new version has to be purchased, like Adobe products. Would be nice if there was an update all button that could grab all of the simple updates at once.
Summary: Great program that lets you know what updates are available for your installed software. Makes it easy to find these updates most of the time. Well worth checking out.
