Scrabble for iPad is a faithful adaptation of that classic board game much beloved by logophiles, with tons of cool extras and several easy options for multiplayer games.
What Scrabble for iPad does best is simulate the look, feel, and even sound of the original game, with sharp HD graphics, gratifying sound effects (letter tiles pop into place with a subtle click), and an interface that will put Scrabble-lovers right at home, including a virtual tile rack that lets you rearrange letters. (And in party play mode, individual players can even use their iPhones and iPod Touches with the free Tile Rack app to play and manage letter tiles wirelessly.) Multiplayer is what Scrabble is all about, and Scrabble for iPad gives you several options, including pass-and-play, games over wifi, and Facebook integration that will let you play up to 25 different games with your Facebook friends. Single player mode is also well done, with variable difficulty (the harder setting will challenge even Scrabble vets) and a "best word" option (great for learning or just "cheating," as you automatically play the highest possible scoring word given the options available). The game also includes a built-in dictionary.
Scrabble for iPad isn't cheap, but it is exceptionally well designed and executed, and a solid value for Scrabble fans.

Bluetooth connectivity has been removed, so you can no longer play with two iPads unless you have Internet access. Pleasing graphic interface has been replaced by a garish board that is more difficult to use. Increased the delay between moves by adding a stupid point tally routine. Overall, the worst app downgrade I have ever seen. Pitiful.
Summary
This was a more expensive app, but worth it. Now I would rather have my money back--or at least the game that I originally purchased. This "upgrade" constitutes a theft.

This was my favourite ipad game, but now I can't even be bothered to launch it, it upsets me so much. The user interface is ugly an the organization of the players' progress is not nearly so easy to follow. I was able to play with my grandson over wi-fi, but have advised his parents, whatever they do, NOT to update the app.
Summary
Don't buy/update to the March 2013 version for the iPad. MAYBE it is good for an iPhone 5, but that does not translate into good for an iPad 1. At lease make both versions available from the iTunes store so that your (formerly) faithful users have a choice.

Summary
I used to love this game but it is now unusable as I cannot play against the computer anymore. That's the only way I ever played it. Did try the playing against random opponent, but no opponent ever appeared. Plus cannot play with computer during power outages when there's no wifi anyhow. EA is just making it worse all the time. Loved it when it first came out, but it has been going downhill with each update.

can play the computer so can play anytime without waiting on a player.
Cons
expensive AND when I try to add letters to the outside edges of the board it won't let me. The letters just keep bouncing back to my rack. The only way around this was to choose the "best word" and it added it for me. Rally stinks because I really deliberated before spending 10 bucks on this ap anyway.
Summary
If I could get rid of the above mentioned bug I would recommend this game but can't in good faith while it does not work properly.
