Version: Rising Personal Firewall 2006 18.31
Cons: when I down loaded this program,my computer began acting as if there were an infection.I downloaded an anti virus program,it caught 2 virus type programs, both were in this firewall program.1 was on download the other came in with an update of this program.I uninstalled the rising firewall program and loaded another firewall program, ran a virus scan and no more problems.I am sorry, but I can not recommend this firewall program.Perhaps,it was just a fluke, but I am unable to recommend this program

Version: Rising Personal Firewall 2006 18.31
"Rising Firewall provides good protection for your computer"
Pros: Comment:
Rising Firewall is a unique software from the standpoint it contains features not only to protect your computer from Hackers but has the capability to scan for trojans, virus's and worms in memory. Also a unique feature is for those that are gamer's Rising Fireall has a "sandbox" as I will name it to protect you when gaming online.
"Installation"
Installation went smoothed with no problems.
"Resouces"
Held at 89%
"Main GUI"
The main gui is user friendly and well thought out by the developers.
"Port Scan Tests"
Eight web sites were used to test port scans against Rising Firewall and how well it defends against the scans:
/
**Note** Rising Firewall passed all scans and showed stealth with 1 exception. Sygate port showed 3 open ports.
"Update"
This feature is nice.......Rising Firewall will automatically update the firewall against new threats and keep current the applications patches needed to detect trojans, worms, and virus's.
"Conclusion"
Rising Firewall is unique firewall with good protection against Hackers.....the added features of trojan and virus detection needs to be refined and tweaked to the point where it will detect any intrusion againsts ones computer. The added feature of gamers (sandbox protection) is a first from my standpoint and a welcome addition to those users gaming on the web....Nice job done by Rising on this feature. I highly recommend this firewall as it has great potential........I will continue to monitor and test it out as upgrades develop
Cons: Trojan Scanner need to broaden its range of trojan detections. Also by default all port scans should be stealth...as indicated above ports showed open at one of the test sites.
