Publisher's description of Retrospection
From Captive Developments:Retrospection is a software program designed to help diagnose problems with other software programs. Retrospection is a software program which constantly records what has visually occurred on your computer. When an error occurs Retrospection makes it easy to play back and review what has occurred. The review feature is useful for reading the error messages that you most likely skipped by and did not read.
Retrospection has shown to be a useful support tool for diagnosing what sequence of events took place to cause a problem. Retrospection also has a feature to export your captured history as a movie. This feature can be used to send a recorded movie to another individual. Version 2.2 addresses the following improvements: Playback resolution quality is greatly improved; the Retrospection capture process will not interfere with an operating system shutdown or restart; and the capture process has been improved to use less computer resources.

- Version reviewed: Retrospection 2.2
This simple program did a fine job of capturing full or partial screen images at one frame per second, but saving images to a movie format presents a problem.
Retrospection's primary interface is a basic tray pull-down menu. A secondary viewer application is a simple function button and window playback display. Novice users could pick up this app in just a few moments.
Retrospection's capture commands are basic and easily set. Users choose to capture the full screen or a quarter-screen centered on mouse position; then select to keep either up to the last 30 minutes of capture data, or up to 10,000 images. Starting or stopping capturing takes just a click on the pull-down menu. The program isn't a true video recorder, as it captures only one image per second. Playback is uncomplicated as the viewer simply starts at the end of the captured images and works backward. With just a button click for each, you can change playback speed, pause, resume, or step through images.
What you can't easily do is save the images as AVI files. The demo is locked to export the last 1, 2, or 3 minutes as a short movie. Some users may find this screen-capture utility occasionally useful.

Version: Retrospection 2.2
"I cannot use it because it requires Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1"
Cons: I cannot use it because it needs microsoft .NET Framework 1.1. My computer is old and .NET Framework slows down my computer's performance. Therefore I cannot use or try this software. What a pity. Can you please make a software which does not depend on .NET Framework?
