Version: Rename 1.1.4.4
Pros: I stopped in the middle of renaming my files to come back here and talk about this program. It's just excellent! You can incorporate it into Windows Explorer so that you select some files and then right-click to start renaming. Also, there is an Undo button just in case you screw up and want to go back a step. It takes all of about ten minutes to feel comfy with this program. Works like a charm.
Cons: Can't think of any dislikes on this one. Like all software, you need to practice a little to get used to it. I created a "test" folder and copied some files into it to get used to how it works. In ten minutes I was ready to go. Works great!

Version: Rename 1.1.4.4
Pros: Has many options for batch renaming, without needing to know regular expressions. I have tried many batch renamers and the rest have disappointed by missing a major feature.
Cons: No significant cons
