    "Not for Windows 7"

    October 24, 2013   |   By Canuck94

    Version: Registry Medic 5

    Pros

    • Cleaned system and sped it up when I was running Windows 98
    • Cleaned system and sped it up when I was running Windows XP

    Cons

    • Did not achieve desired results with cleaning Windows 7 problem
    • Submission of support Web form generates an error message
    • E-mails to info@iomatic.com and to support@iomatic.com (the first a blind attempt, but the latter e-address provided within the software) both bounced
    • No apparent means of contacting the firm or obtaining support

    Summary

Note that the C-Net description above lists Windows NT/98/Me/2000/XP/Vista, but neither Windows 7 nor 8. I didn't see any such limitation on Iomatic's Web site, so I purchased it (and SystemMedic) in October 2013 based on previous success with earlier use for Windows 98 and Windows XP. With those operating systems, the product worked as described, eliminating some problems that had prompted my purchase. Plus, I never ran into any of the described problems with credit card charges.
However, it has not corrected the issue I am having with an application affecting Windows 7. Worse, one of the Iomatic applications has messed up my Corel PDF Fusion so that I can no longer "Print" to PDF Fusion. (i.e. previously if I chose Corel PDF Fusion from my printer list, the software would convert the print job to a PDF file and then ask me where to save it. Now it appears to be converting it to the PDF file, but then nothing—doesn't ask me where I want it saved, and doesn't save it to any default location.)
Also, the RegistryMedic is still the 2008 release, which I already had and which would explain why it is no good for Windows 7. It looks as though Iomatic is no longer in the software business, but someone is maintaining the old Web site and profiting off sales of an obsolete product.

"Purchased key for Registry Medic did not work"

    September 20, 2008   |   By oloughlinant

    Version: Registry Medic 5

    Pros

Nothing to say as it did not work

    Cons

I paid and received a key for Registry Medic but the key was for an old version that was no longer available. Despite emails for help over several months, there has been no response.
So, I've lost my $US30 and am pissed off.

    Summary

Is Registry Medic a sham organisation? They must be making money for providing no software.

"IOMATIC DO NOT PURCHASE SREAD THE WORD"

    August 07, 2008   |   By Slimsodey

    Version: Registry Medic 5

    Pros

Trial version is great ... That is great to suck you in so that you will purchase.

    Cons

Your are fore warned. Absolutely NO customer support. I have tried emailing Iomatic (too many times to count - actually over 100 times!) and received only an automated "noreply" response. To my knowledge there is NO phone number to contact Iomatic. Laura at Emetrix (the billing company used by Iomatic) assured me that my account would be reimbursed. I did download the software but the user ID and code key did not work. A simple problem to fix but good luck trying to contact Iomatic. Laura at Emetrix said Iomatic is one of their biggest customers but she did not have a contact phone number for their client (go figure???) Too bad that I had to give Iomatic ONE star they DON'T even deserve that. Way to go Iomatic your customer service SUCKS.

    "Great product, lousy support"

    August 03, 2007   |   By valoprube

Version: Registry Medic 3.01 build 408

    Pros

Registry Medic was recommended as a registry cleaner utility in Smart Computing magazine (July 2007, p.65), so I decided to evaluate it.

It worked amazingly well, getting of about 370 problem that my AMUST registry cleaner missed. This included many entries for obsolete programs. My registry size was reduced by about 40%. More importantly, the performace of my system improved noticeably and no problems were introduced.

    Cons

The documentation was horrendous and the customer support was even worse. This company (Iomatic) did not repond to questions that I sent on their support web form or on their support email address. Nor did they post a telephone number or mailing address.

They outsource their billing and processing to a third-party (Emetrix). When I called Emetrix and complained, they initially told me to contact Iomatic and ask them for a refund. I told them that I was not able to contact Iomatic and that their contention that they were just a billing company and couldn't help me was "a lot of crap." I eventually got to talk to a supervisor who contacted Iomatic and interceded on my behalf to get me a refund.

Still, this product was so good that it might be worthwhile to install their trial version and just get rid of five problems (the maxium for the trial version) at a time until all errors are removed.

"another company wanting to sucker you into buying their product before results"

    February 14, 2007   |   By Veggie_Momma

Version: Registry Medic 3.01 build 408

    Pros

It worked pretty fast and was easy to use, nice design and very computer illiterate friendly.

    Cons

I have read great reviews for this product so I am very disappointed when I actually downloaded the free trial version, the product could only tell me what was wrong with my computer, with the option of removing only 5 objects but I would have to rescan my whole pc again or purchase their product. I like to test things prior to buying them, as most people do I am sure, so how can they expect people to purcahse someting they can't even try out properly?

"Strongly recommend finding some other software"

    February 07, 2007   |   By lmwoolman

Version: Registry Medic 3.01 build 408

    Pros

Used previous version and really liked it but was too much hassel to get my registration key after purchasing it on two different occassions and versions.

    Cons

After multiple email requests for my registration I have finally given up to the rip off this company is turning out to be. They do not reply to emails at all.

    Purchase at your own risk.

"About as useful as teats on a boar."

    January 14, 2007   |   By bhollendon

Version: Registry Medic 3.01 build 408

    Pros

    ?????????

    Cons

I installed the program and ran it. To my horror, I got a "class not registered" error whenever I clicked on the "scan registry" button. To make matters worse, I received no response to repeated help requests to their bogus "customer support" department. From reading the other reviews posted here, it appears I was not alone in my frustration to get help. After flushing 30 bucks down the toilet, I went back to using an older version of Registry Medic, when the bogus fly-by-night operation of scam artists at Iomatic were called Iomation. With all the register cleaning programs out there that do a much better job for the same money, one would need to get their head examined to give this company a nickel for any of their products.
