From PC Tools :Registry Mechanic is an advanced registry cleaner for Windows that allows you to safely scan, clean, and repair registry problems with a few simple mouse clicks. Problems with the Windows Registry are a common cause of Windows crashes and error messages. By using PC tune-up utilities such as registry cleaners regularly, your system will be more stable, your software will run quicker, and your operating system will boot faster. Registry problems can occur for many reasons, including references left behind after uninstallation; incorrect removal of software; missing or corrupt hardware drivers; or orphaned start-up programs. With a few easy steps, Registry Mechanic will scan your entire registry for any invalid entries and provide a list of the errors found. You then can choose to clean each item or automatically repair them all after making a backup without the need for a registry editor such as Regedit. PC Tools products are free of spyware and adware.
Version 5.0 improves scanning speed and problem detection, includes a customizable ignore list for selective scan, and features an online Live Update facility.

Pros: Found & fixed 67 errors and saved 5% capacity upon compression... pc faster after uninstall?
Cons: Have a valid license so I re-trial upgrades and the slow-down of apps. isn't worth the faster re-boot... OK for one time use every 3-6 months! I'll "regedit" after un-installs.

"MY COMPUTER IS NOW 5 TIMES FASTER!!!!!"
Pros: Registery Mechanic Scans your computer for Registery probloms which can slow down your computer. When removing just in case it does any harm it has a system restore feature!
Cons: WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have to register your copy to be able to remove ALL registry probloms (the free version only removes a few probloms sadly!)

Pros: I has tried many of registry cleaner tools, I think Registry Mechanic is good, it does do a nice job cleaning your registry and easy to use. I also like its interface, it's beautiful.
But I think it is not the best. After I used it 4 months later, my friend recommended WinASO to me, so I decided to download and try it. On the first scan WinASO Registry Optimizer found 144 errors....I could hardly believe it! Thoroughness is truly the hallmark of this great product!

"thank god i only used the free version"
Pros: it dose what it says on the tin, if fixes or removes errors from you computer, when i first did a scan using free version it found over 700 errors and it fixed quite a lot, i now only have 450 errors. after the first scan my computer did work a bit quicker.
Cons: OMG i looked at the 450 errors it woudlnt fix becuase it was a free version and most of them where programmes i need, it wanted to delete games and mods for games and stuff liek that, it dos ehave a tendancy to go a bit mad when it dose a "deep scan"

Version: Registry Mechanic 6.0
Pros: Unlike most registry cleaners that bluff their way into getting a big count, Reg-mech is far more concerned into what it finds and what it omits. Its not how many it finds but rather what it finds. Registry Mechanic is the safest.
Its compactor is awesome - nerver failed me. My machines always becomes faster after a scan->compact.
It also has a registry monitor that I've setup to monitor my startup keys and notify me of changes to critical sections. Nice and its not intrusive.
The tweaking is great.
Scan speeds are ok.
Overal - easy -> safe and doesn't go overboard. I trust this program - after some terrible experiences in the past using other programs.
This one never fails me.

Cons: Wouldn't mind seeing more direct fixes, like simple managers for add/remove, context menues etc and others.
