This power-packed application tweaks your Registry to optimize computer performance, but novices sholdn't expect much hand-holding. RegToy has a pretty nested-button-and-tab interface, which may put off some because it doesn't follow XP standards. Options are primarily of the enable/disable variety, and most changes take effect immediately.
Though the tweak options are carefully labeled, users must know the consequences of altering them, as the few onscreen notes don't provide adequate assistance. You can restore the Registry settings to the Windows default, but that's an emergency final resort, as it will undo many changes made by you and some other programs. RegToy also includes a poorly explained feature for saving and loading settings. Other features include nifty utilities such as a file renamer, a file shredder, a start-up manager, an uninstall manager, and a disk cleaner for removing unnecessary files.
You also get a Registry cleaner for removing invalid Registry entries. It's very rare to find such a powerful and free tweaking application. Intermediate to advanced users will quickly make RegToy an integral part of their toolboxes.

Version 0.5.3 has update RegToy Context Menu ( menu is drawn by program , new custom menu type ). New tweak category : Some windows settings , you can configure 100 ( not hidden ) settings. Pros: And I have no doubt this was designed buy a powerhouse computer wizard. This application has so many tools, it would take way more then is allowed in a review, for me to talk about them all. It's GUI is well designed but it's not really easy to navigate. The program works with "XP" and "Vista", it's a solid, free application that almost does to many things. Just a couple things are a registry cleaner, a shutdown scheduler and manipulation of "Windows Explorer'. I've seen so many poor programs that cost $49.00 and up, offer limited trials and are no ware near this application in quality, it's a shame. This program will be a great addition to any "power users" computer. How this application remains free is beyond my thinking.
Cons: There are a few draw backs though. The registry and file cleaner are both slightly aggressive. This is a program that you need to take your time with and look at everything twice or you could make a serious mistake. It almost has to many modules in it. The interface is kind of tricky because it offers so much. I installed it on "Vista" and had to allow windows to re-install it "using the recommended settings" to correct an error I had during the programs startup. Default language is "Vietnamese', be sure to check it during installation. I think an average home user might find it overwhelming. But it is a great program for advanced users. I admit that, myself with almost nine years experience using computers found some features confusing.

"BEST! Should not have "toy" in the name"
Pros: I have purchased and tried many tweakers and cleaners, however this one leaves the rest in the dust. For a free program, it has all the bell and whistles. You can tweak almost every useful registry setting, and the program has a Utilities section with the best Registry Cleaner I have seen that allows you to cleanout and rebuild hives. My PC have never ran this efficient. The owner of this software could easly charge $50 or more. Sorry XP Tweak, Registry Mechanic, and all the rest . . . this software should be your guide.
Cons: Be care with cleaning duplicate files and registry cleaner, it will clean well. Read everything carefully.

Cons: problem is, if you aren't advanced you might not be able to fully utilize
